Sudan’s Humanitarian Emergency: Hunger, War, and Displacement

Sudan, a nation often overlooked in the global spotlight, is currently grappling with a humanitarian emergency of catastrophic proportions. A brutal conflict, escalating since April 2023, has plunged millions into a desperate struggle against hunger, rampant violence, and forced displacement, creating a crisis that demands immediate and sustained international attention.

The conflict erupted due to a power struggle between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), quickly engulfing the capital Khartoum and spreading to other vital regions, most notably Darfur.
